WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Mazie K. Hirono pledged to work with Small Business Administration Administrator Linda McMahon to assist Hawaii small business owners affected by recent natural disasters. Administrator McMahon also committed to visiting Hawaii. Senator Hirono urged her to meet with business-owners impacted by natural disasters on Hawaii Island, Kauai, and Oahu.
“Small businesses in all of these communities must completely rebuild or are severely impacted by losses in visitor revenue,” Senator Hirono said. “Our immediate response has been focused on relief efforts, but these communities will require additional resources to recover from these disasters. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure that Hawaii businesses impacted by these natural disasters have the support they need in the coming weeks and months.”
Senator Hirono continues her outreach to local, state, and federal officials regarding the ongoing volcanic activity on Hawaii Island. Senator Hirono published resources and information from government agencies on her website for Hawaii residents affected by recent natural disasters. This page includes instructions for replacing important documents and updated information on federal services in impacted communities.
