HIRONO ANNOUNCES SABRINA SIDDIQUI TO SERVE AS COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Washington, D.C. – Washington, D.C. – Senator Mazie K. Hirono announced today that Sabrina Siddiqui will serve as Communications Director out of her Washington, D.C. office. Sabrina will oversee the communications staff in both Hawaii and Washington, DC.

“As I fight for the families of Hawaii, it is crucial that I have a strong staff that will work hard on behalf of our state,” said Hirono. “Whether it’s pushing for quality early education for our youngest keiki or promoting food and energy sustainability at home, I will continue to do my very best for Hawaii. Sabrina is an experienced professional who brings a diverse background to our team, having held roles in the Obama Administration, public policy think tanks, and other Congressional offices. She’ll be a great addition to our office.”

Sabrina has previously served as a Spokesperson at the U.S. Treasury, where she was responsible for day-to-day and long-term communications strategy for the Offices of Economic Policy and Tax Policy, working closely with White House press and policy staff to develop media strategy and ensure message consistency and coordination across the U.S. Government on issues such as the Affordable Care Act and the President's Budget. Prior to her work in the Obama Administration, Sabrina worked at a progressive think-tank, the New America Foundation, as the Media Relations Manager, overseeing communications planning for 20 different policy programs. At New America, Sabrina worked on a range of issues, including early education, health policy, and national security. She has also worked extensively on Capitol Hill, serving as a Communications Director for Representative Dave Loebsack (D-IA) as well as a Deputy Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
