This week, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser highlighted Senator Hirono’s ongoing efforts to see that Filipino WWII veterans and their families realize the benefits they’ve earned and been promised, including being reunited once and for all. In the article, Star-Advertiser reporter Rosemarie Bernardo focused on the Senator Hirono’s belief that “it is imperative that the administration implement the parole program as quickly as possible so these veterans and their spouses, many of whom are in their 80s and 90s, can finally be together with their children.”
