Senator Hirono Meets with Veterans Affairs Secretary McDonald

On Friday, Senator Hirono met with Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald. Senator Hirono discussed the three tenants of her Veterans Action Plan in her meeting with Secretary McDonald: the need for better communication and collaboration between veterans, communities and the VA; timely access to health care for veterans throughout all the islands; and the VA’s role in improving veterans transition to civilian life.

The Secretary also gave Senator Hirono the VA seal, which she will proudly hang in her office.
