Senator Hirono Meets with Governor David Ige

Senator Hirono met with Governor David Ige on Wednesday at one of Senator Hirono’s favorite Washington, D.C. restaurants, Daikaya, which is known for exceptional ramen. Governor Ige was in Washington, D.C. to speak about Hawaii’s 100% renewable energy goal.

 In their meeting, Senator Hirono and Governor Ige discussed issues facing Hawaii today from the impact the recent U.S. Custom and Border Patrol decision to expand preclearance operations to Tokyo’s Narita Airport could have on Hawaii’s visitor industry, to TMT, transportation projects, clean energy, trade, and defense authorization.
