Senator Hirono joined Governor David Ige and Mayor Kirk Caldwell at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to bid farewell to President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, who wrapped-up their two week family vacation on Oahu.
This latest trip marked the President’s sixth Holiday vacation in Hawaii since being elected to the White House. The President’s activities were well documented by the media: relaxing at the beach, golfing with friends and enjoying some of the island’s local cuisine.
During the brief sendoff, Senator Hirono shared with President Obama her appreciation for his work on immigration reform, to which he replied to the Senator, “There’s a lot of work to do.”
Senator Hirono is joined by government and military dignitaries in sending off the Obama Family at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
