Senator Hirono and the Full Senate Vote to Confirm Admiral Harris to U.S. PACOM Commander Post

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Hirono offers congratulations to Admiral Harry Harris, Jr. after the full Senate confirmed the Admiral to the post of Commander of the United States Pacific Command (PACOM). Admiral Harris serves as the highest-ranking Japanese-American naval officer, and is now the first to hold the position of U.S. PACOM Commander. With Admiral Harris, Senator Hirono will work towards strengthening our national security with a continued emphasis on our nation’s strategic rebalance to the Pacific.
