The State of Hawaii and the Counties of Hawaii, Maui, Honolulu, and Kauai have issued emergency declarations for Hurricane Lane, and continue to provide important information and updates about the progress of the hurricane. The American Red Cross, which supports federal, State, and local responses to natural disasters, and has recommendations for what you should include in your emergency preparedness kit, how you can create a household evacuation plan, and when you should evacuate to an emergency shelter—as well as where these shelters are located.
