Hawaii Students Honored at Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

Senator Hirono met with Alexandra Skrocki and Kaytlen Akau, Hawaii students who were honored with Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, which honor exemplary community service, in Washington, D.C. Alexandra, a Radford High School student, organizes Back to School Teen Parties for incoming Radford students from military families to ease the transition to a new school. Alexandra’s father is a colonel in the U.S. Air Force and she has attended eight schools in the past 13 years. Kaytlen lives on Kauai and has logged more than 300 community service hours last year volunteering to teach dance and participating in events to combat cancer.
