Senator Hirono attended the Honolulu City Council’s inauguration ceremony at Honolulu Hale, wishing this latest council a productive year. Hawaii State Supreme Court Associate Justice Sabrina McKenna administered the oath of office to newly-elected members of the City Council. Chair Ernie Martin and Councilwoman Carol Fukunaga were joined by new faces to the council, Brandon Elefante and Trevor Ozawa.
In his opening day remarks, Chairman Martin highlighted the ongoing improvements made to Oahu’s roadways while emphasizing the importance of the Honolulu rail project.
